How to Create a Contract

Contracts formalize your working agreements with clients. retaincoda lets you create contracts, share them through the portal, and track acknowledgements.

Step 1: Navigate to Contracts

Click "Contracts" in the sidebar, then click "New Contract".

Step 2: Fill in Contract Details

  • Title (required) — A clear name for the contract (e.g., "Website Development Agreement").
  • Client (required) — The client this contract is for.
  • Project (optional) — Link to a specific project.
  • Start Date — When the contract takes effect.
  • End Date — When the contract expires.
  • Value — The monetary value of the contract.
  • Description / Content — The full contract text, terms, and conditions.

Step 3: Save

Click "Create Contract". The contract is saved as a draft. You can then share it with the client for acknowledgement.

Use templates to save time creating contracts with similar terms. You can reuse content across clients.
