How to Manage Milestones
Milestones help you break projects into manageable deliverables, track their status, and link them to invoices for accurate billing.
Viewing Milestones
Navigate to Milestones in the sidebar. The list shows all milestones with their project, amount, status, and due date. Use the search bar to filter by name or project.
Editing a Milestone
Click on a milestone to view details, then click "Edit" to update its name, amount, status, due date, or description.
Milestone Statuses
- Not Started — Waiting to begin.
- In Progress — Work is underway.
- Completed — Deliverable is finished.
- Invoiced — Linked to an invoice.
- Paid — Invoice for this milestone has been paid.
Splitting Milestones
If a milestone is too large, you can split it into smaller milestones. This divides the amount proportionally and creates separate trackable deliverables.
Merging Milestones
Conversely, you can merge multiple milestones from the same project into one. This combines their amounts and creates a single deliverable.
Invoice Linking
Milestones track which deliverables have been billed. When an invoice is linked to a milestone, you can see the billing status directly on the milestone detail page. Learn more in How to Link Milestones to Invoices.
