How to Create a Proposal

Proposals let you present your services and pricing to potential or existing clients in a professional format. You can create proposals, add line items, attach milestones, and share them via the Client Portal.

Step 1: Navigate to Proposals

Click "Proposals" in the sidebar under Sales, then click "New Proposal".

Step 2: Fill in Proposal Details

  • Client (required) — Select the client this proposal is for.
  • Project (optional) — Link to an existing project if applicable.
  • Proposal Number — Auto-generated or manually entered.
  • Date — The proposal date.
  • Valid Until — Expiration date for the proposal.
  • Subject/Title — A descriptive title for the proposal.
  • Notes — Additional terms, scope description, or special conditions.

Step 3: Add Line Items

Add one or more line items describing your services:

  • Description — What the item covers.
  • Quantity — Hours, units, or count.
  • Rate — Price per unit.
  • Tax — Select a tax category if applicable.
  • Milestone (optional) — Link the item to a project milestone.

The subtotal, tax, and total are calculated automatically.

Step 4: Save the Proposal

Click "Create Proposal". The proposal is saved as a Draft. You can continue editing it before sending.

💡 Tip:

You can duplicate an existing proposal from the proposals list to quickly create a similar one for another client — saving time on repetitive proposals.
